Pumpkin Way: Poems

Pumpkin Poems

by: Kristin Lindner

Bat wings flap all through the night.
Ghosts and ghouls whisper just out of sight.
Our jack-o-lantern's face is firery and mean.
All signs point to a Happy Halloween.

Halloween witches cackle
while stirring their brew
under a sliver of the moon
that shines bright and new.

Yesterday my jack-o-lantern
winked at me
and I chased a black cat
up a tree.

Waking up from nightmares
can be very hard
especially when your costume
includes a pink leotard.
